In the past few years, there’s been a rapid rise in the number of online rental stores and marketplaces. This is an indicator of the tremendous growth in the rental industry, which is encouraging many entrepreneurs throughout the globe to create their rental websites. And to do so, the best method is to invest in a ready-made rental software that comes with all necessary to launch a rental marketplace right off-the-shelf.

Today, there are three software that are considered widely in the rental industry for starting an online rental business, which are YoRent, Booqable and Rentle. In this blog, we have pitched these three amongst each other to find out the best software.

Introduction

YoRent

Official Website: www.yo-rent.com

It is a self-hosted rental software launched in the year 2015. Being self-hosted means Yo!Rent can be hosted on any hosting server of your choice. To support rental operations, Yo!Rent comes with a plethora of features that simplify processes and automate the job of rental store owners. Being a perpetually licensed software, Yo!Rent can be purchased once and used indefinitely.

Right now, YoRent is available for both single vendor rental stores and multi-vendor marketplaces. It comes with industry-specific designs to reduce the overall time to market.

Booqable

Official Website: booqable.com

Booqable is a SaaS based readymade software that is particularly made to power single vendor rental stores. It also comes with dedicated rent-centric features and provides multiple pricing options for various sizes of businesses. Booqable is highly suitable for rental business owners looking for a simple platform to conduct online operations. In addition, Booqable supports various integrations to make the solution customizable.

The only con of Booqable are its scalability issues and extra charges for staff accounts.

Rentle

Official Website: www.rentle.io

Rentle is another SaaS platform with its main benefit being the frequent feature updates. It supports a wide range of rental business models such as heavy equipment, AV equipment and party equipment. For enterprise level businesses, Rentle has a separate enterprise version. The best part about using Rentle is that it comes with a free limited features version for solopreneurs, which can also be used for market validation.

Do consider that you cannot rebrand the free version of Rentle.

Features

YoRent: In terms of features, Yo!Rent easily beats the other two software. It comes with use-case centered features like booking calendar, product inspection, document verification, rent plus sell, rental agreement management, rental buffer period, custom filters, late returns management, late cancellations management, rental add-ons, multilingual support and many more. In addition, Yo!Rent also has 20+ payment gateways which makes it easy to start an online rental platform in any region.

Booqable: Booqable also comes with advanced rental management features that simplify accepting online orders and managing the same. Some of its key features are inventory management, rental booking calendar, payment management, tiered pricing and many more. In terms of payment gateways, Booqable only has PayPal and Stripe.

Rentle: The feature set of Rentle is always improving and covering more and more features. Right now, it comes with essential rental business features such as booking calendar, consumables, product catalog management, rental agreement, eSign, rent plus sell, subscription packages, multilingual support and more. For payments, Rentle has Stripe integration.

Pricing

YoRent: Yo!Rent is a perpetual license software available at one time cost. Due to various niche-specific designs, business owners are required to request a price quote on Yo!Rent’s official website.

However, our estimated cost is between $1500–5000 for a lifetime. As the software developer gets no control over your cloud system, there are no listing and transaction limitations, implying no package upgradation costs in future.

Booqable: Booqable’s pricing is recurring. You are basically paying for a software service which is billed on a monthly or annual basis:

  • On monthly basis: $35, $95 and $299 per month
  • On annual basis (including a 20% discount): $348, $948 and $2998 per year
  • Additional costs: $20 per month for every staff account

Note that the aforementioned have only been compared from Booqable’s most premium subscription.

Rentle: Rentle’s pricing structure is similar to Booqable. It is also available on a monthly and annual pricing basis. In addition, there’s a free version available, but it does not allow you to remove Rentle’s branding.

  • On monthly basis: $39, $92 and $380
  • On annual basis: $348, $828 and $3420
  • Additional costs: 1.4%-9% transaction charges

Conclusion

All of the three software are highly impressive, which makes it difficult to select the best software. However, you can consider the following scenarios that will help you in decision making.

For long term business, YoRent is the best solution as it comes with all features required for growth and is available at a one-time cost. In contrast, if you don’t have a team and just want to experiment with your rental business idea for a few months, then you can go forward with Rentle’s free package. If you want branding as well in your business experimentation, then opt for Booqable.
